I was saved in a small fellowship run by Bro Anil back in 2010 and then from 2011 onwards, I have been regularly attending Faith Harvest Church and have seen God’s love and the manifestation of His Word in my life.
In the beginning, attending church was easy but slowly as my parents observed me attending church regularly, they didn’t like it because I came from a Hindu family. I thank God for delivering me from many harmful habits, and that’s how I was getting more drawn to the Lord knowing His love for me and His Word, as I continued to attend church. But things got ugly and very challenging specially, when I avoided the Hindu festivals and the rituals at home. I refused to take part in the pujas, eat prasad or wear tika. I had to go through much abuse physically, mentally and verbally and it wasn’t easy especially when my father got back home drunk.
One Sunday Service, Ps. Shan was preaching about the Jailor and his household who got saved, in Acts 16:31. Bible says, not only the jailor was saved but his household was also saved because of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. What an encouraging word it was! I will never forget it. Both my brother Vishal and I were already attending church and we started praying, for the salvation of our family.
In spite of all the opposition I faced at home, I informed my parents that I wanted to take water baptism because I was determined to do it, at any cost. So, on May 9th 2015 I left home before dawn, so that nothing could change my decision until I got baptised. That evening after the baptism, when I came home my family was very furious, they denounced and rejected me but I praise God for giving me the strength, to stand firm. I also had the church leaders and the Pastors always supporting me, even in my decision to go for the 6 months Bible training at Rhema Bible School, in Nagpur.
Slowly things started changing, my brother was baptised and my sister also started coming to the church and my parents stopped scolding me from attending church. Then last year, during the Pandemic my parents saw me and my brother watching the Online Services, how we had fellowships on Conference Calls, encouraging one another. Then few of my family members were quarantined so, both my brother and I started praying for God’s protection, favour and salvation. My parents saw how the church stood by our side always encouraging and even providing for our needs physically, during the difficult times.
Then one fine day, my father said he wants to be baptised. At first, I didn’t take it seriously thinking he must be drunk but later I realised he really meant it. Then both my parents were baptised on 15 Nov, 2020 in the Nepali Baptist Church. To be honest, I am still in a state of wonder how God changed their hearts? God is Good, He is Faithful. I thank God and the Faith Harvest Church for always supporting me, in my prayer.
